Halifax Air Traffic Control Tower This building design received an Award of Merit from the NSAA. Kendall acted as Project Architect on this complex building type. The building was regarded as similar to building a ‘Swiss Watch and after completion was still under budget. It is six storeys and contains state of the art equipment for air traffic safety. NSLC Welton Street This project is an 8500 sq ft addition to an existing strip mall in Sydney, NS. The project was delivered in a design build process. Kendall Taylor was the Lead Architect as well as the LEED consultant for this project which was completed in March 2011. |

St. FX University Over a three period Kendall Taylor designed numerous projects on the St. FX Campus which included the Coady Institute, Governor’s Hall, the new Facilities Management building and The new Schwartz Business School. Seaview Manor Nursing Home Kendall Taylor was the lead Architect on this 30 bed addition to an existing Long Term care facility. The design was focused on the creation of spaces and the built form that replicated the residential scale and experience of its residents. The project was built on time and under budget. |

LEED/Green Projects |

Bedford Institute of Oceanography Energy Centre This 5000 square foot building was built in 2002 before the LEED rating system was introduced in Canada. With a very basic program, Kendall Taylor set out to design one on the more innovative green buildings in Atlantic Canada. All materials used were kept in their natural state. The Green roof is being studied by scientists across the country. The photovoltaic panels operate the awning windows providing free natural ventilation. The building received a design award from the NSAA. |

Fredericton Conference Centre and Office Building This 65 million dollar project is pursuing LEED Silver and has been built in the urban core of the city. Kendall Taylor acted as the LEED Consultant facilitating all Integrated Design workshops and assembling the documents for certification. The building achieved many points due to its location in the downtown core and contains a cistern that provides grey water to all of the toilets/urinals within the building. |
